On Monday 14th October HIIT Kitchen hosted two workshops for AFC at our flagship healthy eatery in the heart of Saint Albans covering sport & performance nutrition.
The two workshops were split between players and their host families which included a practical demonstration as well as a presentation covering behavior & lifestyle which was broken down into energy balance, macro nutrients, micro nutrients, nutrient timing and supplements.
Host families & players got to create their own protein shake and smoothie recipes which incorporated different herbs and spices to not only make food tastier but also boosting the players health. There was a key focus on adding key ingredients to the players food throughout the week such as turmeric, parsley, oregano, ginger, mint, cinnamon and garlic.
When operating at an elite level in sport it is extremely important that the body is fed with the correct nutrition to not only aid with recovery from training and games but also to fuel performance.
